About the Book…

Five years beyond her divorce, still wounded and angry, Trisha Jacobs struggles to be happy in her new life, and works long days to keep afloat the Blue Ridge mountain farm inherited from her grandfather.  She refuses to chance another hurt, to let anyone close, until an old man, with unusual eyes, literally falls into her life.

     The man, Josiah Penland, apparently homeless, possibly near death, and seemingly gifted with curious abilities, claims to have known angels and believes Trisha might be one.  He also harbors a long past transgression, and believes Trisha can act to end the consequence of the wrong and remove from him the ‘Good Lord’s judgement’.  And, want it or not, Trisha needs a similar help only the old man might give.     

During one week in October, Trisha must convince Josiah not to return to the deep woods of the mountains and somehow keep the annoying, persistent, Sherriff’s Deputy France Laws, from putting the old man in jail for something the deputy believes he might have done in the distant past.  More importantly, Trisha must learn how to break an oath made years before.
